About Steve Jobs’s Resignation

So Steve Jobs the head of Apple has resigned. He made the unexpected annoucement yesterday much to the surprise of  most people even tech industry insiders. Although the reasons of Steve’s stepping down are not clear its most likely due to ill health. Jobs had been battling pancreatic cancer since 2003. We can also confirm that his sucessor is Tim Cook.  This however comes as no surprise because Cook, had been Steve’s  number two for sometime.Infact some critics had sugested that Cook should have succeeded Jobs a long time ago.

Apple Inc. has been operating in the technology industry for the past thirty-five years. During this time the company has managed to establish high brand recognition and positive image as a high quality and innovative manufacturer and technology pioneer. Most of this success has been a result of the direct input of Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs was regarded as a charismatic leader, who had unique technical and creative skills. His innovation, entrepreneurial flair and commitment, enabled him to steer Apple to become one of the leading technology company in the world. His relationships with Apple was like any passionate relationship very turmoilous. When Jobs left  Apple in 1984 he was asked to return 1987 due to the poor performance the company witnessed. During his reign Steve Jobs personally supervised the creation of most of the successful products that Apple launched.

Steve was also was also known as a micro manager who was a stickler for detail and made no compromises when it came to his innovations. His contribution to Apple was enormous and his absense has been met with mixed feelings, so much that on the day of the announcement Apple stock fell about 5%.

People have compared Jobs to one of the greatest inventors, Edison who himself changed the world with his inventions Jobs too revolutionized the way in which telecommunications has merged with other technologies such as entertainment and how music now is streamlined and listened to and how videos are watched. He has created a legacy that will live long after his time. We will certainly miss watching him making announcements in his typical blue jeans, white NewBalance sneakers and black turtlenecks which were his atire of choice when making public apperances.
