TELECEL LICENSE: Potraz Overzealous, Says Judge
A high court judge in Harare has granted mobile network operator Telecel Zimbabwe a temporary reprieve following the cancellation of its license.
The court decided that the Post and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) had been overzealous in its action in granting Telecel an interdict. This allows Telecel to operate until ‘dispute’ with Potraz is resolved.
Telecel has insisted its payments are up-to-date while Information and Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services minister Supa Mandiwanzira insisted that they needed to comply with the law.
Mandiwanzira has since been more positive about the future of Telecel calling it ‘bright’.
Good news so far for Telecel employees we think.
