OH SNAP: Van Rooyen Removed From SA Finance Ministry After FOUR Days

South Africa presidency Jacob Zuma has the whole country scratching its head after news that Pravin Gordhan has has been installed as finance minister in that country.

A very unpopular decision was made to appoint David Van Rooyen to replace Nhlanhla Nene as head of treasury on the 9th of December 2015 and now just four days later he has been reassigned. The decision saw the rand crash north of 16 to the greenback.

Van Rooyen will now serve as the new Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

Gordhan was the head of the ministry Van Rooyen takes over Gordhan previously served in the fourth administration as head of treasury.

It’s pretty strange. Like. Four days dude… and it’s like… nah!
