1,200 Zimbabweans Deported From South Africa Last Week

South Africa continued its deportation of Zimbabweans in its borders with the expulsion of 1,207 people from its northern neighbour.

That brings to 35,031, the number of Zimbabweans deported since October last year. Since January  27,276 were sent back home.

The majority of these are border jumpers. This is border-jumping season given the low levels of the Limpopo river. Some of those who have been deported are probably already plotting their return to South Africa.

It is pretty grim when you think about it. Going to a country where you are not wanted because the circumstances back home have you making dangerous choices about life.

That said, life back home surely can’t be that bad, can it?
