Strive Masiyiwa Named Among CNN Money’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders
Econet Wireless founder and group chairman Strive Masiyiwas has been named by CNN Money as one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders.
The criteria set for choosing was listed as follows:
In an era that feels starved for leadership, we’ve found men and women who will inspire you — some famous, others little known, all of them energizing their followers and making the world better.
Masiyiwa appears at number 35 on the list.
Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin in calling him ‘a champion for the power of technology to improve the lives of millions’ said:
He is truly one of Africa’s most influential figures, with his good counsel sought by world leaders and CEOs.
Also on that list are people such as Apple’s Tim Cook, 16 year-old Afghani education advocate Malala Yousafzai, Ali Baba’s Jack Ma, Michael Bloomberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, the Dalai Lama, former US President Bill Clinton, Myanmara democracy advocate Aung San Suu Kyi, Warren Buffet and Pope Francis to name a few.
So yeah, he is in good company.
