Zimbabwean Player Makes Everton Debut
19 year-old Brendan Joel Zibusiso Galloway has made his debut for English giants Everton Football Club in the Premier League.
The Harare-born Galloway was a surprise call-up for the injured Leighton Baines against West Ham on Saturday.
Galloway moved to England from Zimbabwe at the age of six where he joined MK Dons. He became the club’s youngest ever player at 15 after making his debut in a 6-0 victory over Nantwich Town.
He moved to Everton in 2014, at the beginning of the current season and was handed a five-year contract.
While eligible to play for both Zimbabwe and England, Galloway has been called up and represented English age-group sides already. He has played in England’s 2014 UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifying campaign.
All the best to the young man.
