Zim-linked teen sensation Benyu stars as Aldershot win three on the bounce

Benyu played 83 minutes and was involved in the first goal.

The BBC described it like this:

A superb counter-attack started by Callum Reynolds saw the ball played in to Shamir Fenelon and he fed Kundai Benyu, whose cross was parried but Fenelon was on hand to drill into the top corner.

The 19 year-old Benyu has been on loan at the Shots from Championship side Ipswich Town. In that month he has been instrumental to their winning three on the bounce to help their chances of pomotion.

The Camden-born Benyu has shown a lot of promise but what Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy described as an ¬†‘attitude’ problem has stunted his growth after making the fringes of first team football when he was 16.

He appeared for Tottenham Hotspur Under-19s in the summer NextGen Series which shows he has bags of ability.

But with his contract at Ipswich Town running out at the end of the season he will have his work cut out.

Benyu’s impressive performances on loan will do him a world of good though.
