Pagels Names Youthful Warriors Side For World Cup Qualifier

Zimbabwe interim football coach Klaus Dieter Pagels has retained the majority of the side that played against Botswana in a friendly last month for the World Cup Qualifier against Egypt.

Zimbabwe play the Pharoahs on 26 March in Alexandria.

Players who are in form like Cuthbert Malajila have been left out while Rodrick Mutuma who is yet to kick a ball in anger for his new employers Bloemfontein Celctics due to work permit issues gets to get in on the action.

There seems to be no movement in trying to get the services of at least half a dozen foreign based players who have expressed an interest in playing for the national team. Remember this is a side that struggled against Botswana

Maybe Pagels knows something we don’t. That is what you get when you hire a coach whose last and only training assignment was with a club called VfL Stade II.

Neither he or that institution even have a Wikipedia page!
