Manyuchi steps up title defence preps with easy victory in Zambia

Zimbabwe’s World Boxing Council welterweight silver champion Charles Manyuchi was dominant as he dispatched Tanzanian Deogracias Samuel in an international welterweight non-title bout at Lusaka’s government complex on Saturday night.

By all accounts Manyuchi was imperious and never under any risk of losing to Samuel, even toying with him. Manyuchi clinched the fight with a unanimous decision (80-72, 80-70, 80-72)

In spite of the easy win, Manyuchi said:

Every boxer is different. Every gun can kill.

Manyuchi will now continue with his preparations for his voluntary WBC silver title fight against Frenchman Damien martin set for 30 September at the Harare International Conference Centre. He lands in the country from his Zambia base two weeks before the fight.
