Manyuchi camp coy on Harare fight opponent change
Rumour has it that Colombian fighter Jose Agustin Feria with a record 21 wins, three losses and a single draw will fight World Boxing Council silver welterweight champion Charles Manyuchi on the 14th in a non-title fight over 8 rounds while a title fight proper is scheduled for November this year.
His camp dodged the question of a possible change in opponent at a press conference held in Harare on Monday, a day after the jetted into the country from his Zambian base. It cited contractual obligations as being behind the delay in issuing of information.
Manyuchi is currently billed to defend his title against Frenchman Damien Martin. His promoter and manager from OQBP Chris Malunga said his charge was ready to defend his title for the first time ever on home soil. The fighter was upbeat about the opportunity to showcase his skills to his fans back home.
Meanwhile the foreign boxers are expected to land in Zimbabwe from 9 October 2016.
