Ludwick Mamabolo Wins Comrades Marathon

South Africa’s Ludwick Mamabolo brought his country its first home winner in a while as he secured the 2012 Comrades Marathon.

Mamabolo, who came second in 2010, took control of the race after four hours and finished it in 5 and a half hours.

With all the noise around Stephen Muzhingi and Zola Budd in the run-up it was the Mamabolo who walked away with the R300,ooo cheque.

The best position by a Zimbabwean went to Marko Mambo who came fourth with defending champion Muzhingi coming sixth.

To all the Zimbabweans who represented the country at the Comrades, we are proud if you and our congratulations go to Mamabolo and South Africa for the win.
