Kirsty Coventry Through To 200m Backstroke Final

Zimbabwe’s Kirsty Coventry has made it through to the final of the 200m backstroke final of the Olympics after coming second in her semi-final and sixth overall.

KIrsty won this event in the last two Olympics and she is the world record holder.

She will face stiff competition for medals with the giant 17 year-old Missy Franklin from the United States a favourite to take gold.

That has done nothing to dampen the spirit of her legion of Zimbabwean fans all over the world and they have shown support for her on social media.

Kirsty has not won any medals at these games and this is her last chance to do so.

It’s Go Kirsty from here!
