Chakabva, Welli in Zimbabwe squad for Sri Lanka test
The Zimbabwe senior men’s cricket squad is now in Sri Lanka for a tour that comprises five one-day international matches and one Test match.
The squad landed in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo on Tuesday afternoon from Amsterdam, where they played three one-dayers against the Netherlands, winning the first two.
They will play the first two ODIs against Sri Lanka in Galle on Friday and Sunday, before driving to Hambantota for the other three limited-overs matches on the 5th, 7th and 9th of July.
The Test match will start five days later in Colombo.
Meanwhile, Wellington Masakadza has joined the Zimbabwe squad in Sri Lanka ahead of the ODI matches.
The 23-year-old left-arm spinner was one of the five players announced by the selectors specifically for the Sri Lanka leg of the tour, which started off with a two-match ODI series in Scotland that ended one-all before the stopover in the Netherlands.
The other four players joining the squad in Sri Lanka, for the one-off Test match, are bowlers Natsai M’shangwe, Carl Mumba and Nathan Waller as well as wicketkeeper-batsman Regis Chakabva.
