Caps United get North African opponents in CAF Champions League Draw

Caps United will spend their time in North Africa as all their opponents for the CAF Champions League group stage are from that part of the continent.

They face last year’s finalists and five time winners Zamalek as well as USM Alger of Algeria (runners up in 2005) and Ahli Tripoli of Libya.

Reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns face AS Vita in Group C, as well as Saint George S.C. of Ethiopia and Espérance Sportive de Tunis of Tunisia. Their tie with AS Vita is tasty as the Brazilians got a lifeline an ended up getting a ticket to their fairy tale run after the former were disqualified.

Group A consists of Tunisia powerhouse Etoile du Sahel, Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, Al-Merrikh SC of Sudan and Mozambique’s Clube Ferroviario de Maputo.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly play Wydad Athletic Club, Coton Sport and Zanaco in Group D.
