Andy Waller Is Zimbabwe’s Next Cricket Coach

Andy Waller will talk over the coaching of Zimbabwe’s cricket team on 1 May according to Cricinfo.

The former Zimbabwe international will come in mid-way through the tour of Bangladesh to the country after the two tests which Stephen Mangongo will be in charge of. Mangongo will continue after that has Waller’s assistant for the one dayers and T20 matches and beyond.

Grant Flower who as been working as batting coach is expected to carry on while Heath Streak, whose tenure as bowling coach expired on 31 March with that of former coach Allan Butcher is also expected to retain his position.

We hope this means the promised beginning of a new era for Zimbabwe cricket which has been dogged by all sorts of problems over the last decade. Their recent tour to the West Indies was disappointing as they lost all matches across all formats of the game.

There is no official announcement of the appointment as yet although he has confirmed it himself.

Good luck Waller though.
