ZANU-Pf Launches Facebook And Twitter Accounts
President Robert Mugabe’s ZANU-Pf party has launched Facebook and Twitter accounts according to is Deputy Director for Information Psychology Maziwisa.
Until now, the party which has been in power since 1980 has shunned social media and some within its circles have even spoken against.
This has opened space for a plethora of twitter and facebook accounts being opened under is banner but not officially connected to it.
Said Maziwisa in a statement we found on ZBC:
We are going all out and we would particularly like the young generation who are the most active on social media, to take charge of this election.
So if you are on Facebook or Twitter expect to be stalked soon especially if you are very active. Already politicians like Saviour Kasukuwere, David Coltart and Welshman Ncube have been very involved in social media. Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai updates both his Twitter and Facebook regularly.
Interesting times for Zimbabwe. Slowly but surely social media is growing up.
On Facebook they are www.facebook.com/ZANUPF.OFFICIAL in case you want to have a look.
On twitter it is twitter.com/zanupf_official
