Zambia Arrests Former President Banda Over Graft
Zambia has arrested its former president Rupiah Banda in connection with a Nigerian oil deal.
He has been accused of stealing more than $11 million during his three years in office.
The Zimbabwe-born Banda says he is a victim of a witch-hunt. He was questioned for three hours before being released on bail. He will appear in court on Tuesday.
His presidential immunity was stripped last week.
True to form, it seems as if Zambia arrests former presidents as a matter of course.
