Uhuru Kenyatta Wins Kenya Vote

Provisional results of the Kenya vote count show that Uhuru Kenyatta with 50.03 percent of vote with all votes counted.

After all the votes were counted, he had polled 50.03% of the vote, 4,109 votes over the threshold required for outright victory.

Official results are expected later on Saturday around midday.

Kenyatta, who served as Deputy Prime Minister since 2008,  won 6,173,433 votes out of a total of 12,338,667, well ahead of the prime minister, Raila Odinga, who polled 5,340,546.

It should be a curious time as he will be sitting head of state to be tried by the debauched International Criminal Court in a few months.

Uhuru is the son of the Kenya president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Isn’t Mwai Kibaki happy to be out of this?

Should be interesting to see how much of a bearing this has on Zimbabwean elections set for mid 2013. A party steeped in revolution set against a won that is fiercely backed by the West. Oh, you do know that Odinga was backed by the West right?
