‘Zimbabwean national’ arrested in Malaysia over sex-trafficking
South African Police Minister Fikile Mbalula says a Zimbabwean national has been arrested in Malaysia in connection with a sex-trafficking racket.
The announcement was made as Mbalula announced that Princess Mahlangu who was a Miss United Countries contestant for the pageant slated for Malaysia on 29 July:
There has been an arrest of a Zimbabwean in Malaysia and more arrests will be made.
The pageant has the number for a Zimbabwean model agency businessman as its WhatsApp contact. Despite some sources claiming he is one of those arrested, we cannot independently confirm this.
Mahlangu is one of 14 women said to be rescued and returned to their own countries.
The agency behind the pageant accuses Mahlangu of lying according ENCA a claim Mbalula refutes.
A Nigerian who Mbalula described as a ‘co-ordinator’ has also been arrested.
