Zimbabwe Vice President John Nkomo Dies
Zimbabwe’s Vice President John Landa Nkomo has died.
The story was first broken on twitter by Newsday and n0w highly-placed sources have confirmed the unfortunate passing of VP Nkomo.
There has been confusion over Nkomo over the past few weeks but it seems as if the veteran nationalist has succumbed to cancer, at the age of 78.
The Daily News says Zanu PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa has confirmed the death of this gallant son of Zimbabwe.
Nkomo took over from the late Joseph Msika has Vice President of Zimbabwe in 2009. Before that he had served as speaker of parliament and in ZANU-PF as National Chairman.
The gentle giant passed away this morning at St Annes Hospital.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
