Zimbabwe Adopts New Constitution

Zimbabweans overwhelmingly voted yes in the constitutional referendum held this past Saturday 16 March.

The breakdown according Zimbabwe Electoral Commission,  was as follows:

YES vote-3 079 966 :

NO vote – 179 489

Spoilt ballots – 56 627

So we had just over 3.3 million voters this past weekend. And the yes represented about 92.9% of the vote.

So yeah, we have a new constitution in Zimbabwe.

A massive hailstorm preceded the announcement of the results in Harare. Interesting times for Zimbabwe.
