Yes, 27 December is a holiday
The government has declared next Tuesday 27 December 2016 a public holiday in Zimbabwe.
This is because Christmas falls on a Sunday and so those with formal jobs are prejudiced of a holiday given Monday is already a holiday.
Not so good news for the majority whose work life is in the less formal sector as it means there are now only 5 business days left between now and the end of the year.
One might think an extra day doesn’t make a difference but a whole day means it takes longer for the RTGS to come through.
