One Week-Old Baby Stolen At Parirenyatwa Hospital

A one week-old baby has been stolen at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare while its mother was out buying food.

The Herald quotes police spokesperson Superintendent Paul Nyathi who says that 34 year-old  Priscilla Mangwiro was discharged on Tuesday with a week-old baby boy.

She then went to sit outside on a bench when two women came and sat next to her. She then gave the baby to one of the women. They offered to assist her while she went to get food. She came back 30 minutes later and the two women were gone with baby along with her belongings  in hand.

Nyathi has told the public approach the nearest police station or phone our complaints desk on (04) 703631 if they have any information that could lead to the discovery of the baby.

Just can’t see how someone can simply leave their child with strangers. It makes very  little sense but she comes from Shamva so you know how our rural folk can be so trusting especially when a con-artist knows what they are doing.

Mind you, if the hospitals were able to take better care of their patients this sort of thing would not happen.
