Veteran Journalist Bornwell Chakaodza Dies
Veteran journalist and former editor of The Standard and The Herald, Bornwell Kidson Chakaodza (BKC) has died.
His family told NewsDay the highly regarded pressman succumbed to bowel cancer this morning at the Avenues clinic in Harare after battling the disease for four years.
The legendary journalist was well-liked in the industry and many of the country’s finest journalists will testify that they were mentored by him.
At the time of his death he was a media consultant and vice chairperson of the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ), an organisation of which he was a co-founder. He was also on the media complaints committee which adjudicates complaints against the media.
He was 60.
