Tom and Jerry responsible for Middle East violence – Egypt Intelligence

Egypts top intelligence agency has blamed violent video games as well Tom and Jerry for the escalating violence in the Middle East.

Salan Abdel Sadeq is quoted as having told an audience at a conference titled “The Media and the Culture of Violence:

[The cartoon] portrays violence in a funny manner, and gives the impression that, yes, I can hit him, and I can blow him up with explosives

Abdel Sadeq is the head of the State Information Service.

On video games:

Video games are spreading…it has become normal for a young man to sit for long hours playing video games, killing and spilling blood. He is happy and content with that.

No plans to censor either content is known to be afoot but it would  seem as if Tom and Jerry are terrorists.
