‘System Disturbance’ Causes ZESA Outage

The ZESA outage that affected most of Zimbabwe yesterday was apparently caused by a system disturbance. The outage which occurred around 6.50pm and lasted about 2 hours.

Our calls to ZESA went unanswered but The Herald quotes spokesperson Mr Fullard Gwasira as having said last night:

Indications are that there was a system disturbance leading to loss of power generation at Kariba Power Station. We are, however, trying to establish the cause of the disturbance although communication is still difficult.

We are not sure what that even means. Did someone trip over a cable. ‘Cause that is a disturbance isn’t it? Or maybe someone didn’t pay for something. If you’re being creative, that could be called a disturbance too.
