UPDATE: Second Suspect In Boston Marathon ‘Captured’ – Police
The second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing has been ‘captured’ by authorities and is still alive.
Says Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokar Tsarnaev are originally Kyrgyzstan and were ethnic Chechens.
The authorities say the 19 year-old Dzhokar had been shot and had been pinned down on a boat in the town of Watertown. His older brother Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with the police on Friday.
The police acted on a tip-off from a woman who saw a pool of blood in her tool-shed. Dzhokar hid in a boat. Shots were been fired from the boat and police had shot back.
Police were keen to take him alive but caution was being exercised in detaining him in case the suspect had some sort of suicide bomber vest.
UPDATE 2:45AM CAT – Suspect is in custody and alive according to police.
UDPDATE: 2:58AM CAT – Boston Police confirm via Twitter the arrest of Dzhokar.
