Peter Ndlovu Pleads Not Guilty; Blames Crash Burst Tyre
Former Zimbabwe soccer captain Peter Ndlovu has pleaded not guilty in a trial in which he is accused of causing the death of his brother Adam in an accident.
Peter, charged with culpable homicide is appearing before a magistrate in Victoria Falls.
He insists that a burst tyre caused the horrific accident. He remembers driving and then hearing a loud bang. His brother who had been asleep assured him that he would be OK. Nomqhele Tshili, who died in the same accident did not respond. Adam died om his way to the hospital.
The state say the accident was caused by negligence and speed. Peter denies this and says he was moving at between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour.
Peter’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo accused the state of doing a shoddy job after it was revealed that one of the tyres from the car was a Continental one while Peter’s car had Hankuk tyres only.
The trial has upset quite a few of our readers and members of the public alike who feel sorry for the Warriors legend.
It continues on Thursday.
