Magaya rape accuser livid with state for refusing to withdraw charge
The woman who earlier accused Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Walter Magaya of rape is unhappy that the state is not taking her bid to withdraw the charge against him seriously.
In a letter to the courts she said:
It seems as if you have not taken heed of my clarion call that I have withdrawn the rape complaint. I was in the Magistrates’ Court today and was surprised your representative, one Michael Mugabe, insisted that a decision had been taken to proceed and prosecute the rape case in question, yet I have already withdrawn it.
She added that she had lied about being raped adding that she did not want to have anything to do with the matter.
The drama of the case has been incredible. From Magaya pre-empting his arresting by saying there were people after him (read here), to the first court appearance (read here) and then the first attempt to withdraw the case with the woman saying she was being threatened with death if she did not proceed with it
