Econet Sues Air Zimbabwe

Just as Air Zimbabwe was celebrating being in the sky again, they are about to get into court again after the country’s largest mobile network Econet Wireless sued them for monies owed.

Econet says it entered into an agreement with the national airline to provide telecommunications services since March 2008 but Air Zimbabwe ran up a debt of $64,000 – sounds like a made-up number doesn’t it? – which it has not paid for.

At the moment it looks as if Air Zimbabwe owes pretty much everyone money on some level or the other.

We should look have a look at our ledger too. For all we know, they might owe us some money too.

They better pay up soon because Econet don’t play when they want that money. Ask NetOne.

How do you arrive at the assertion that it sounds like a made up number?

Everything with airZimbabwe has debt written all over it, we do hope that they do someday start making a profit, they always in the media for the wrong reasons……since I don’t even know when anymore!
