Bus Crash Near Bulawayo Claims 8

A bus crash near Bulawayo has claimed eight people and maimed several others.

According to NewZimbabwe  the accident took place at Cement Side about 10km outside Bulawayo. A JJ Tours bus bound for Botswana-bound bus overturned, flipped twice and landed on its roof at 2am Saturday morning.

The accident happened when the driver failed to negotiate a curve during a heavy downpour according to eyewitnesses.

According to the police there were 65 passengers on board. Given that the bus ripped a telephone line and ended up flattened on its roof there are fears that death toll could increase.

That brings the death toll on Zimbabwe’s roads since the 15th of December last year to 208.

Makes it scary to travel doesn’t it?
