Air Zimbabwe Suspends Flights Indefinitely

Air Zimbabwe has been forced to suspend all flights indefinitely after workers vowed not to turn up for work until they were paid salaries worth something in the region of $35 million.

Workers have not been paid since July and government is running around trying to put together money to settle outstanding debts.

Air Zimbabwe had earlier flighted adverts saying that it was resuming flights. About 27 passengers turned up for their flights. However, as there were no workers Air Zimbabwe was forced to cancel all flights.

The national airline is in a bit of fix at the moment and external debt has resulted in one of its planes being impounded, a suspension from IATA among others in a list of embarrassing episodes.
