Scores Dead In Brazzaville Munition Blast
At least 150 people have died following a series of explosions in the Republic of Congo capital Brazzaville.
The explosions were triggered by a fear at a munitions depot. Reports suggest that over 200 people could be dead when the body count is completed. The cause of the fire remains unclear.
As many as 1,500 people are said to have been injured, some of them seriously and are being attended to at an army hospital. Among the injured could be hundreds of Chinese workers.
Witnesses said the explosions came from the north of the city and that the impact of the blasts threw open doors of houses in the city centre.
Our thoughts are with the people of Congo.
