Shining bright lights improve men’s sex drive – study
Oh so a new study says shining bright lights seems to improve men’s flagging sex drive.
It helps boost men’s levels of the male hormone testosterone and increases sexual satisfaction.
While sex drive drops around 40 years of age it was found that it got worse when seasons with less light set upon them. So an experiment, 38 men with known libido problems were tested.
Half sat in light boxes all morning with emissions that have a similar stimulation to the sun.
Men that spent longer periods in light reported improved libido and increased sexual satisfaction.
Lead researcher Andrea Fagiolini:
Before treatment, both groups averaged a sexual satisfaction score of around two out of 10, but after treatment the group exposed to the bright light was scoring sexual satisfaction scores of around 6.3 – a more than three-fold increase on the scale we used. In contrast, the control group only showed an average score of around 2.7 after treatment.
Don’t go staring at the sun now!
