Scientists invent a pill that will replace exercise
Hate exercise? Well soon you might not have to bother.
Scientists have invented a drug that has the same effect on muscles as exercise.
Not entirely but it does target burning fat that leads to cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
Melbourne’s Deakin University’s associate professor Sean McGee:
We have identified a drug that makes the body respond as if it has exercised, with all the fat burning and cardiovascular benefits, which opens up exciting possibilities for future treatments.
The only issue is that it does not really cause weight loss. In the tests on mice they started eating more. So while you will be less at risk from cardiovascular disease and the sort, you might not feel so good otherwise.
So erm… yah.
