Good sex bad for an older man’s heart?

So science has always told us that sex is good for you right?

Well new science says it might not be so good for older men.  Sexually active older men are more likely to have a heart attack than their less involved pals.

Part of the reason is that more effort is needed for a man to reach orgasm. This is why they end up having to take interventions such as pills to help their performance along. These ¬†‘may have negative effects on their cardiovascular health’, according to study lead author Hui Liu, an associate professor of sociology at Michigan State University.

Moreover, having quite a high frequency of sex may indicate problems of sexual addiction, sexual compulsivity or sexual impulsivity

This may be related to anxiety or depression.

There was no negative effect found in older women who were sexually active.

There are indications that men are more likely to admit they engaged in sex than women did.  In the two surveys, about 70 percent and 50 percent of men, respectively, said they had had sex in the past year, compared with roughly 40 percent and 23 percent of women.

The study is however still going on but, tjo! Guess one might as well get the best bits done before they get old lest they kick the bucket while knocking boots.
