ZESA Blackout Affects Passport Processing

The ZESA power failure that plunged the Harare Business District area into darkness on Wednesday is reported to have affected the processing system at Makombe Building.

According to the Registrar-General Mr Tobaiwa Mudede this has resulted in the suspension of the normal processing of passports and temporary travel documents. He however said only urgent passports would be processed.

We know of many Zimbabweans living and working in the Diaspora who usually return home to renew their passports at the end of the year. We don’t think such people will find this news very amusing.
