U.S.A Denies Murder Of Iranian Nuclear Scientist

Iranian nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan was assassinated in a style straight out of a James Bond movie, sparking outrage from Iranian government officials.

Reports from Iran say that two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle attached a magnetic bomb to Roshan’s car, quickly sped off then detonated the bomb which killed Roshan and his driver.Thirty-two year old Roshan was a chemistry expert and director of the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran.

Some critics suggest that his killing may be the result of external forces trying to clandestinely undermine the country’s nuclear program. The murder is said to have all the markings of an Israeli hit but Iran has fingered the USA for the murder.

The USA has on many occasions been accused for using Mossad, the Israeli secret intelligence organisation, to conduct covert operations such as targeted killings, paramilitary activities and other dirty tricks. The USA has categorically denied this latest allegation.

The assassination of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan increases the tension between Iran and the USA which has seen new U.S. economic sanctions, threats to bar American ships from the Persian Gulf, an Iranian death sentence to a jailed U.S. citizen and an escalation in Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

Reacting to the killing, members of Iran’s parliament shouted, “Death to America!” and pumped their fists in the air in a show of defiance. A point that has to be made is that when these guys make threats they must be taken seriously.

The Iranian regime recently threatened to use explosive mines and have been conducting missile drills to threaten US and other oil tankers that must pass through the Strait of Hormuz before getting oil to America and Europe. If oil-rich Iran decides to close the Strait of Hormuz it will result in major damage to the American and world’s economy.

Its looks like the world will soon witness one of those showdowns that is embroiled in oil and accusation of secret development of nuclear weapons. That story line sure sounds familiar, didn’t it happen somewhere before?
