Man Killed Over Headphones
A Bulawayo court heard on Thursday that a physical confrontation turned lethal when a man stabbed his roommate three times with knife.
The reason for the row is what is rather disturbing, it is said Zuko Mazinyane, 25, stabbed his roommate Eric Sikhosana with a kitchen after the latter looked for his headphones and when he could find them, he accused Mazinyane of theft.
It is said Mazinyane then grabbed a kitchen knife, and stabbed Sikhosana’s forehead, cheek and chest.
Mazinyane was not formally asked to plead to a charge of murder during a brief appearance before magistrate Richard Ramaboea. He was remanded in custody to March 14 and advised to apply to the High Court for bail.
This case illustrates how homicide can sometimes occur over seemingly small issues. It is really easy for a simple argument to go horribly wrong. Although managing your anger can at times be a challenge, keeping your anger under control can save you from a lot of problems.
Here are 5 tips we think could be helpful in managing your anger-
1: Take a timeout-Take a break from the person or situation until your frustration subsides a bit.
2: Once you’re calm, express your point of view calmly to get thing off your chest.
3: Get some exercise-physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that can leave you feeling happier and more relaxed than you were before you worked out.
4: Think before you speak- In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to say something you’ll later regret. Take a few moments to collect your thoughts before saying anything — and allow others involved in the situation to do the same.
5: Identify possible solutions-being mad and shouting will not solve anything.
