Zim’s Tinashe Makura in bid to represent San Marino at Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Zimbabwean singer Tinashe Makura is a man on a mission as he makes a bid to represent San Marino at the prestigious Eurovision competition.
He is currently in Europe, Vienna, Austria to be specific, to record some music before he takes on 11 other contestants to book a ticket to represent one of the world’s oldest republics in Lisbon in a few months. Some of the other contestants are from Norway, Austria, Germany among others. Only one contestant is from San Marino.
The format for qualification is as follows:
The eleven successful candidates will be invited to battle it out in five live recorded shows, which will be broadcast on the web and via satellite TV across Europe from January to February 2018. Parts of the shows will be filmed and broadcast in 360 and virtual reality.
In the finals, the three remaining candidates will each perform a cover and an original song.
The winner will go on to represent San Marino at Eurovision 2018.
The show will be presented by Nick Earles.
Heat 1 of the competition is set for 27 January 2018.
Makura shot to fame with his bubbly song Hello which dropped back in 2013.
