Zim film ‘Escape’ screening halted at Zanzibar International Film Festival
Zimbabwean film Escape was barred from being filmed 10 minutes into its screening at the Zanzibar International Film Festival.The Thinking Films production remains in the festival but was dropped for its erotic scenes.

So the screening of Escape at Zanzibar International Film Festival was stopped by the censors after 10 minutes or so because of censorship.The situation is still in the balance – so we shall see what happens next! We are being invited to other festivals and screenings.
The film did cause a stir for its content in some media spaces and was handed a 16 certificate by Zimbabwe’s Censorship Board. That means it does not have any nudity in it.
The film was also banned in Beijing.
