Wene Music Awards 2014 has 33 categories and only music that was recorded and produced between1st January 2013 and 30th June 2014 will be considered.

The closing date for submission is midnight on 21st August 2014 to allow the Board of Adjudicators two full months of deliberations, judging and decision of the Adjudicators Panel is strictly and emphatically confidential during its process.

No influence of any nature will be allowed, leaks or any other disclosures of the nominees and the eventual winners to the media. Any attempt to influence the decision of Adjudicators’ Panel will not be treated with “kid gloves” by the Adjudicators Panel.

As announced by the Chairperson of the Adjudication Board Mr Paul Brickhill at the launch in March, Wene Music Awards has just three yardsticks that cut across all awards: authenticity, excellence and innovation. No Award will ever be considered without all three components.

Musicians should look forward to awards such as Best Live Stage Act, Visual, Choreography and Musical that will be purely based on live performances.

Awards that have been held before have never recognised the group or band that has supported the lead vocalist but come end of October one Group/Band will go home as winner of the Outstanding Band Award.

Zimbabwean music that has also never been recorded will be taken care of.

Submission rules will be announced in due course.

The first edition of the WENE Music Awards will be held on the 29th of October 2014.
