Speaking at a packed press conference at which partners UN, ZOL Zimbabwe, British Council, Hivos, the European Union and Culture Fund were represented says last year gave them the determination to return this year its traditional six-day presentation.

As we went around doing our smaller events, I realised that people really missed it. They might not have be able to put money on the table but they missed it.

Executive Director Maria Wilson described staging this year’s event as a ‘miracle’.

This year’s festival runs under theme¬†Hifa 2017 – ¬†Staging an Intervention¬†and runs from 2 to 7 May in Harare. Tickets are already on sale at the HIFA box offices on site and in Avondale.
