Hosted by Basketmouth and MTV VJ, Nomuzi Mabena, the assembled media representatives from across the continent played a series of games, based on programming from Viacom channels MTV Base, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET and Comedy Central with an MTV MAMA award up for grabs – though the most-anticipated prize of the evening was a chance to dump the famousNickelodeon Green Slime over a guest of each of the winning team’s members’ choosing.

DJ Vigilante was on the decks and all sorts of games were the business that night. All sorts of games based on Viacom products across their channels were played.

All-round nice guy IK Osakioduwa was pranked by the You Got Gotteam, and didn’t let his cool slip for a second when an over-enthusiastic fan(played by our very own Larry Kwirirayi) kept interrupting his interview with Nomuzi.

Viacom promises brand new content according to Nickelodeon Marketing Manager Lindi, you know, fresh cause that is what cool is.

When the games were done and the last Lip Sync Battle lines had been drawn, the ‘lucky’ recipients of the evening’s Nickelodeon Green Sliming received their honour – with host Basketmouth, first up. Creepy that kids love sliming that much.

Anyway Viacom has been in Africa for 10 years which is pretty slick. 3 channels it was back then and now it is up to 10.

Looks as if there is a concerted effort to develop African content at the moment. And by that we mean content outside Nigeria and South Africa.

The MultiChoice Africa Content Showcase is a dynamic 5-day content extravaganza, which sees a host of DStv’s biggest channels, including Sony, SuperSport, Zee World, A+E, Disney, MTV Base, BET, Comedy Central, BBC and M-Net previewing their latest and greatest content, soon to be seen across the video entertainment services provider’s platforms.
