Upcoming Jibilika Festival to run on zero budget
Jibilika Dance Trust’s incumbent creative director Nyaradzo Nhongonhema has revealed that their offing festival is being run on a zero budget.
Addressing the media during a press conference held at Batanai Gardens on Wednesday, the new boss expounded how they get to partner with Theatre In The Park and other corporates ;
We’re on zero budget, totally zero budget. So the success of this festival is coming from the collaboration that we’ve made with a couple of venues and couple of people and this includes Theatre In The Park which has become home for theatre and other activities in the theatre industry. Also it’s a central venue… So the festival really is thriving on collaboration and partnership that we’ve made over the years. So Theatre In The Park is one of the partners in this year’s festival.
The festival will run from Friday 18, to Saturday 19 , under the theme TenUp ,a name that signifies the Trust’s tenth anniversary.
A number of activities that are lined up for the festival, include workshops for Strictly4Girls ,Graffiti , Hip-hop4 Kidz,Breaking Barriers, and dance, beatbox and rap cyphers.The main highlight of the festival is the 1 vs 1 Freestyle Battle which will see the eventually winner going to represent Zimbabwe in the Rivalskool Battle in France, in December.
Girls and kids are urged to come in their multitude as there is a lot lined up for them.
