The Jim Gaffigan Show,  a single-camera autobiographical show about , well, comedian Jim Gaffigan, will see Chirisa play Father Nicholas Ngungumbane according to Deadline.com. He is a catholic priest from Zimbabwe who has recently relocated to New York. He will try to convince Gaffigan to go to church often.

We are not sure about the name Ngungumbane but ah well.

The Sony Pictures Television show was ordered for an initial 10-episode first run which will debut on TV Land and repeat a week later on Comedy Central. Adam Goldberg, Ashley Williams and Micahel Ian Black make up the rest of the cast. Peter Tolan and Gaffigan wrote the show.

Interestingly, Chirisa along with Gaffigan are the only members of the original pilot.

Chirisa rose to fame back home as Detective Trevor Davies on Studio 263. His more high profile credits were in Mr Bones 2: Back From The Past,  Crusoe and has guest-starred in top Hollywood series NCIS:Los Angeles opposite LL Cool J.

Chirisa also appears in Whitney, an Angela Bassett directed movie as Gary Houston and another movie Somebody Call My Mama is in post-production.

We’re pretty happy for Tongayi.
