Rooftop’s ‘Lamentations’ lands Edinburgh Festival Fringe date
Off the back of a successful Harare International Festival of the Arts run, Rooftop Promotions’ Lamentations play has landed a slot at the Edinburgh Fringe’s Assembly Festival.
The Getrude Vimbayi Munhamo penned play which has already toured locally as well as Kenya and Uganda has a chance to impress in front of a new audience on the prominent stage.
In its promo, the evocative play says:
Unique in its presentation and unequivocal in its mirroring of man’s moral torpor, this is an emotionally intense and engaging piece of work about the loss of innocence. Positioned through four epochs (1895-2015), Lamentations will open your eyes and your hearts
Dalma Chiwereva joins Munhamo on stage for the performance directed by Daves Guzha. Lewis Ndlovu is on percussion.
If you’re in the neighbourhood catch it at the much-coveted Assembly George Square Studios – Three stage from 2 to 28 August 2017 at 11.30am.
