QUICK SONG REVIEW: Karizma feat Simba Tagz – Tru North (Mr.Chocolate)
Style and flow are point of pride for rappers.
UK-based and award-winning rapper Karizma linked with nonesuch afropop sensation Simba Tagz for a new song “Tru North (Mr.Chocolate) as he build up to his next project.
The newly-released joint is a good example of the rapper’s hinted greatness: an emcee who rhymes words effortlessly and better than many of his contemporaries. In the song the two talk about their success and how untouchable they are as artists from the North. In this context it is used to refer to the North of Samora Machel Avenue which in the Harare hip hop circle is associated with affluent suburbs, as opposed to the South, where there are ghettos.
Karizma’s flow is sewn tight and it has a plenty of qoutable bars ,like ;
Top 3 spitting usambobhaizwe /Kana pasina mari ngavasandidaide.”
His narcissistic posturing does indeed seem gamechanging (bearing in mind of his MTV Shuga deal), and another thing to notice is that he has an impeccable ear for beats.
As for Tagz we’re still not sure which part of his involvement we love the most, but it’s somewhere between his syrup voice smooth sailing on the 808-light beat and his adjoining patois.
The rapper says Tru North will lead up to his No Guts No Glory Volume 3.
