QUICK EP REVIEW: Takura – Relationship Goals
In 17 minutes Takura has achieved what many have not been able to achieve in multiple bodies of work.
An emotionally approproate piece of art.
In Relaionship Goals, Takura gives us urban Zimbabwe’s most millennial complete piece of work since Stripped.
Relationship Goals in the aformentioned period captures moments, emotions with and without moments and moments within emotions. A contemporary mid-tempo-dance-with-your-woman-kind-of-sound is what you will get with this romantic jaunt.
Other than the feature with IaRe it is a solo effort in five songs, a departure from the hustle, moving deftly to the arms of a loved content.
The influence of past contemporary culture is present in the TLC-no-scrub inspired I Want You. Most of you will say it came came from Shape of You but Takura is a music guy and he gets it.
Youngnash delivers us piece upon on piece for the creation of a quick conversation gently undulating our ribs.
Stamdout track? well we have to go with Usayende. It was a hard ask to pick one but that just about edges the Mai Mwana which will make for the easy hit. That said all these tracks are pretty radio friendly hit kind of material.
