OPPORTUNITY: Call for local artists for the Zimbabwe Annual Exhibition Competition

Annually the competition provides a platform for Zimbabwean artists at home and in the diaspora to showcase their current work.

It includes: awards ceremony and a Harare Conversation.

Artists can submit their work at our Galleries in Mutare, Harare and Bulawayo with the understanding that the artworks will be collected after the exhibition from where they were submitted.

This year’s theme is Nhaka/Inheritance the practice of passing on property, titles, debts, rights and obligations upon the death of an individual. It has long played an important role in human societies. The rules of inheritance differ between societies and have changed over time. The focus will be how this practice affects relationships, and living and working together.

This is an opportunity for artists to create new work that reflects their best efforts in terms of quality, relevance, authenticity and mastery over medium with a strong communicated message. Artists can only submit two artworks.
